Question

In many industrialised nations, traffic accidents ---- a significant proportion of deaths among people under the age of twenty-five.

Accepted Answer

account for — 'Account for' bir oranı oluşturmak/karşılamak anlamına gelir ve 'a significant proportion of deaths' ifadesine tam uyar. 'Bring down' (azaltmak) ters bir anlam taşır; 'go through' ve 'rest on' istatistiksel oran bildirme işleviyle uyuşmaz.
