After sea levels stabilised roughly 6,000 years ago, coastal communities adapted their diets to take advantage of newly accessible shorelines. While many groups remained mobile, some settled permanently in areas with especially abundant marine resources. These early foragers drew on a wide range of food sources throughout the year. For example, migratory fish appeared in rivers only during spawning season, seabirds nested seasonally along cliffs, and certain shellfish beds were only accessible at low tide during particular months. However, other resources, such as shellfish beds close to shore, remained available year-round.

AShell middens uncovered at archaeological sites are the clearest evidence of what these early foragers ate.
BIn most coastal regions, certain foods were only available in specific places at specific times of year.Doğru cevap

DIn especially resource-rich areas, some coastal groups were able to settle permanently rather than remain mobile.
ECoastal foragers in warmer regions primarily hunted seals, the most abundant marine mammal in the area.

Neden?
