The cacao tree is a tropical evergreen that thrives only in humid, shaded conditions near the equator. It is cultivated commercially in roughly 30 countries with suitable rainfall and soil. These pods are harvested by hand and split open to extract the seeds, or 'beans', that are later fermented and dried to produce cocoa. The two main cultivated varieties are Forastero and Criollo, with Forastero being hardier and higher-yielding, while Criollo is prized for its more delicate flavour.
Neden?
Boşluktan sonraki cümle 'These pods' der; yani boşluk, gönderme yapılacak kakao kozalaklarını tanıtmalıdır.
