All societies distinguish between individuals based on some notion of life stage. In much of Western Europe, people commonly distinguish between infants, children, teenagers, young adults, middle-aged adults, and the elderly. In contrast, in many Indigenous Australian cultures, individuals are classified through stages tied to initiation rites, kinship responsibilities, and community roles rather than fixed numerical age. When societies sort individuals into such categories, each category functions as a life-stage group, and people within the same group share a broadly similar social position.

AAs individuals age, their social standing typically shifts, often bringing greater respect from others in their community.
BThese categories are not strict behavioural rules, since individuals can act in ways unexpected for their life stage.
CAt minimum, a society will distinguish between the young, the mature, and the elderly.Doğru cevap
DThe term 'generational shift' describes changes in a population's balance between younger and older members.
EOne's life-stage group determines their entitlements, such as eligibility for certain community responsibilities, in any given society.

Neden?
