Question

The new evidence did not overturn the theory; it merely ---- the timescale over which the process occurs.

Accepted Answer

refined — Kuram çürütülmemiş, yalnızca bir ayrıntısı düzeltilmiştir; 'refined' (ayrıntılandırdı, inceltti) bu sınırlı katkıyı anlatır. 'Invalidated' ve 'discredited' (geçersiz kıldı) 'did not overturn' ifadesiyle doğrudan çelişir. 'Duplicated' (tekrarladı) ise yeni bir katkı olmadığını söylerdi.
